My name is Alicia Taite. I teach mathematics at the Romeo Engineering and Technology Center in Romeo, MI. I have been teaching for 13 years, and I am currently working towards my final credits for my Master's Degree in Mathematics Education at Wayne State University. My husband and I have been married for 10 1/2 years and we have 3 wonderful children, Tyler (9 1/2), Gabriella (8), and Nora (5). We also have a dog named Cooper, who is a Labrador mix. My husband is a Dearborn Police officer. We have very busy schedules, but love spending time together whenever we can. We enjoy the outdoors, watching movies, participating in sports, watching sports, and just hanging out together.
My school district recently purchased Google Chromebooks for the high school and middle school students. I decided to take this online class to help me learn some new ways to integrate technology into my own classroom. I have previously taken another online class through WSU, and I found much of the information very useful, so I am excited (but also nervous) about this class. I have used Gmail, and Google Drive before, but I have never blogged, used Twitter, or Facebook.
Hello Alicia. How are you?? We have a lot in common. I am married with 3 children 12, 11, and 2. I am also a teacher(4th grade in Detroit). I look forward to getting to know you this semester.

ReplyDeleteAlicia i truly feel you pain about being nervous i am right there with you as well as being excited about learning some new tools to pass on to my students. Your blog is very nice i really don't think you have much to worry about. Enjoy the class !

Hi. Between you and your husband, either one or both of you have a looooong drive to work, as Dearborn and Romeo are quite far apart. Hopefully the class will meet your needs and interests. Welcome!
ReplyDeleteHello Alicia. My district has done the same thing and I am at the same level as you are. I like some things about these Chrome Books, but not everything. Good luck to both of us on learning new ways to use these things.
